API response viewer

Paste raw API responses - headers and all - and read the JSON as inline blocks with visible data types. This free API response viewer strips wrappers, formats payloads, and copies paths for your code.

How to inspect an API response with jsonblocks

  1. Paste the raw response, including any status line or headers.

  2. Press Extract JSON to isolate the payload from the wrapper.

  3. Read the inline blocks with type badges on every value.

  4. Search keys, collapse noisy branches, and copy paths into your code.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste a response with HTTP headers?

Yes. Paste the whole thing, headers included, and press Extract JSON. The tool finds the first { or [ and parses from there, ignoring status lines and header blocks.

How do I copy a field path into my code?

Hover any block to preview its path, click to pin it, then copy. Paths use $.user.name style addressing that maps directly onto most languages and jq filters.

What if the response is an error page, not JSON?

HTML error pages fail extraction with a clear message. Check the status code in the pasted headers - 4xx and 5xx responses often return HTML instead of your expected payload.

Can I view paginated or nested responses?

Yes. Nested data and envelope fields like data, meta, and pagination render as collapsible blocks, so you can drill into the page you care about and collapse the rest.

Is my API data uploaded anywhere?

No. Responses often contain tokens and user data, so everything runs locally in your browser. Nothing is sent, stored, or logged.

How is this different from the main visualizer?

Same block engine, tuned workflow: header-tolerant pasting, one-click JSON extraction, and a response-shaped sample. For files and huge dumps, use the large file viewer instead.
