About jsonblocks

jsonblocks is a free browser-based collection of JSON tools. Its main viewer renders nested data as inline blocks with type badges, search, and copyable paths.

Why this viewer exists

Real API responses often mix nested arrays, missing values, strings that look like numbers, and booleans. The block view makes those differences visible while keeping each value connected to its place in the document.

Maintenance and editorial approach

The jsonblocks project maintains these tools and guides. Examples are synthetic; instructions are checked against the interface. Comparison pages link to official sources, and performance reports explain their fixtures and limitations. Page dates change when content changes, rather than on every build.

Limits

  • This is syntax validation, not JSON Schema validation.
  • The path finder lists concrete paths; it is not a general JSONPath query engine.
  • Large-file capacity depends on browser memory and device speed. A background worker reduces parsing work on the main thread, but transferring and rendering data still cost time.
  • JavaScript number parsing can lose precision for large integers. Keep original files when exact values matter.
